How We Discovered the Single Cup Coffee Maker

Posted in Uncategorized on June 14th, 2010 by admin – Comments Off

my folks is just about just like most other ordinary American families. We enjoy our children, try hard and try and enjoy our time off with loved ones. We’ve always enjoyed a great cup of coffee in the morning and perhaps even after dinner. For years we did what everybody else did, buy ground coffee brands, dump the grounds in a filter, stick it in the brewer and wait for 8 cups or so to pour through. Then we started purchasing whole beans, which needed the purchase of a grinder. Fun for some time, but messy.

Then one evening my better half and I were at a friend’s house for dinner and they offered us a cup. When asked what I preferred I just indicated that I would have whatever everyone else wanted. Our mate opened the cupboard and showed us a spread of little cups, each packed with enough coffee for a single cup… Dark roasts, breakfast blends, you say it. She then pointed towards the corner of the kitchen and introduced us to the single cup coffee maker. I subsequently learned this was a Keurig model. One of one or two manufactured by people that invented what’s called the’K Cup’ system.

the subsequent morning when we started the process of brewing another pot of coffee the unavoidable conversation started about what we had discovered the evening before. We both loved coffee. We did not always agree on what variety we wanted on a specified morning. We did not always drink the entire pot. And we were both a bit sick of the mess and bother involved in brewing a bowl of coffee ( yeah… We can be a little lazy in the morning… First one out of bed makes the coffee ). So I cracked open the laptop PC and started doing some research on single cup coffee makers. I promise you, I take my time when having a look at products. After a day or two of looking and debating I settled on one or two brands. You can see the options I considered below. These are all excellent options and took considerable time ( and more than one or two eye rolls from my bride ) for me to sort through the options. I finally ordered the Keurig B70 single cup coffee maker. Feature for feature the best single cup coffee maker I could find. read more »
